Proof:

I have been busy.

I came home and looked outside and the sun was still shining. I decided to gather all of the knitting that doesn't have a picture on Ravelry and document them.

Parts of this pile go back to the summer, and parts are recently finished.

I have two socks I'm currently working on, and both are exactly halfway completed. Embossed Leaves, and Anastasia.

I spun 4 oz. of wool on my new Golding spindle. I finished yesterday and am going to cast on for Ishbel as soon as I finish posting this.

On the first freezing day, I realized I need a new hat. Enter Thorpe.

Around the same time, I realized I could use a cozy, warm, woolen sweater. I've been eyeing Notre Dame from Interweave Knits for quite some time, and decided to go for it with some Cascade Eco-Wool. It is wonderful, and I can't wait to wear it. It's been through the wash a few times, because of the lanolin in the yarn. I'm now just waiting for the perfect button.

After revisiting all of my recent (and not-so-recent) work, I looked up and there was still just enough time for me to take this picture of the buildings across the street. I love the sunlight in the winter air.

(All of these projects can be found on Ravelry.)

Looking Back; Looking Ahead

In 2008 I completed:

3 lap quilts &
3 sewn shirts
2 bags
2 pairs of stranded mittens
6 pairs of socks
8 sweaters
3 shrugs
3 hats
and
5 scarves

I tried out many new things:

quilting
sewing clothing
knitting for a commission
colorwork
knitting a sweater with lighter yarn
wearing vests
blowing glass
basketweaving
spinning
(among others)

My goals for this year:

Use what I have instead of accumulating needlessly
Be creative
Eat more foods I prepare instead of packaged foods with preservatives
Become more adept at sewing my own clothes
Stay organized
Try something new each week

Happy New Year! Here's to 2009.
